We are in the middle of a heat wave. No, to be truthful, it is more like a HOT wave! You know that kind of weather--you wake up and you are ready to turn on the air conditioning, you prefer not to leave the house until necessary, you would rather eat cereal and sandwiches than cook and heat up the house.
Typically in times like these, it would make sense to stay in, play a few games, watch a good movie, read a good book....but not us! Today we hit about 106, tomorrow we are projected to hit 108, it just keeps getting better and better. Monday was our coolest day of the week, only about 104. So what did we decide to do? Go to Six Flags and spend the day outside in the heat, of course!
The benefits of going to Six Flags on a Monday in the heat are simple--there were far fewer people there than we have ever experienced! The kids had so much fun riding the rides since the lines were practically non-existent. David brought his friend Ryan and those boys got to ride the roller coasters as much as they wanted! The kids and dad went on the White Water Safari ride 5 times in a row! It was certainly hot, but we had a great time. On the way home we stopped and got Panda Express for lunch/dinner (yum) and came home and swam. We are so glad to have a pool!
Let's hope our next adventure to Six Flags won't be quite as hot!
